Ok, here you go. Free look-ups.

Just remember, you get what you pay for, and I'll do them as I have time.

(Couple people here might even give you a reference. Smiley )

Anyway, tell me what you're looking for..the more info the better, as far as location, birth place, spouse, parents, children, dates, whatever.

I will have a much harder time finding people with very common names. Ditto with people whose names might be spelled wrong but I can usually overcome that.

If you'd prefer, you can email me through here or via THR.

Hey, thanks again for the info on Albert. BTW, we have his wife's name as Elsie Ann. Would you trust the Census records or the family Bible for the correct name?

I'll vouch for the lady, within like 3 days she knew more about my family history than I did.

Actually, this might not be a bad time to do some more work on that.

BTW, Did you lose power Barb?

Geneology has been fun for a couple of my cousins.  The Fertsch branch has been traced back to around 1100 AD.  Germans sure kept records!

There is some tie between the Witherspoons and the Stuarts.  Supposedly, my son is something like 35th in line to lay claim to the English throne. Cheesy

The other two branches aren't particularly inspiring. Smiley

Never have been able to find any horse-thieves or train-robbers.  Dull.  I"m apparently the first entrepreneurial capitalist (albeit penny-ante) in a long line of school teachers and farmers.

Ok, is there anyone who wrote me before this afternoon that I didn't get to?

If any of you that I sent things to want more info, I can probably dig it up, but it gets slower and you might have to go after original records. I can point you in the right direction to do that, if you want.

I am torn about finding out.

All my life I've been informed my  name is not only  spelled "wrong" . pronounciation is "wrong" too.

I have fired all but one living "family" - the rest are crazier than road ticks.

Now stories are told of "family" and how they could ride, shoot and make for medicinal purpose alchohol when needed.

One story goes, the law said if one was on property , law could not touch them. So this "uncle" was on his way home when once again the deputy hit the cherry on top to give chase. Seemed to be a popular Friday night arrangement.

Uncle jumped his ditch and was stopped by his fence at the curve on his property. Deputy slammed into rear of his truck. Uncle was "legal" being on his property.
Staggers out and "What does the back of my truck say?"
"Dodge" replies the deputy.
"Well next time Dodge dammit!"

Deputy had a lot of paperwork to do, County had to fix the Dodge Truck, and for a bit Friday nights just were not the same.

Word is they did return...full tilt boogie too!

I'll think about this...

What is possible? I have a great great grandmother who was a cherokee indian, but I am not even positive of the spelling of her name. Is it possible to find out about her from the names of her decendants?

Maybe. I'm finishing up Tarpley's and since I now have an ear infection (and doh! no insurance all weekend because I'm changing jobs on Monday), I'm sure not going out in this cold. So if you want to shoot me some stuff, I'll try to take a look at it.

I should warn everyone to verify, too..mistakes are made, both on my part and on others. I very rarely will speculate and try to let you know if I am. Occasionally, I am counting on someone else's research and that's always questionable.

As far as whether to believe a Bible or a census record? Probably both. People are often called by their middle name or a nickname or whatever. Census takers are notorious for spelling things wrong, too.

Damn. I really want to have a chat with the one that sold his wife at market...

I'm just stopping there.

Got a pack of stuff a few years back from a guy who is not related to me, and who I had never heard of before he sent the stuff. Apparently he researches my family name. That's where I heard about the selling of the wife, and also the story about the family being exiled to the Cornish village of St Stephen for 100 years around 500 years ago. My grandfather was from St Stephen I believe, certainly he is buried there.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

Ok, all caught up except for the request I just got, and sadly, Grampster's gramma is giving me a hard time.

Good thing I put this offer out when it was only 10 degrees out. Still, I have trap league in a bit, so can't spend much time today digging up old relatives. Smiley

10* ain't too bad, it is the wind that chills to the bone. Targets in the wind...no problem. Only thing I focus on is the leading sliver of target. I shoot from low gun, pass thru.  Getting dusted by pellets in 10* gotta hurt more - right?

Go hurt some targets, dead folks can wait.  Then again I figure shooting is better than dealing with some folks upright and breathing my air anyhow...

Watch your lead, sometimes cold does an inversion on certain powders like Ball. You might be missing in "front".

Me and White Flyers go w-a-y , w-a-y back. Reliable, stays together leaving the house , behaves, true and mannerly...

Always preferred them over the Champion and Blue Rock.

Champion folks bad to just break down just looking at 'em sitting there doing nothing.
Blue Rock  liable to break down if you yell at 'em to harsh, when they do get up to leave the house-  don't always stay together, or act right.

Some stuff ain't got good breedin' , needs to be dealt with, good dusting usually does it.  Wink

Have fun!!

Don't forget your fingerless ragg wool gloves...

I'm enjoying this one entirely too much, I'll admit.

No worries. I'm sure there's a Reb in there. I'll keep digging.

After I've ruined your entire self-image, of course. Smiley

Ok, everyone (except sm) happy? I don't think I missed anyone. With most of you, I could probably do some more digging some time if you have specific questions or other branches you want me to look at. I start a new job tomorrow, though, so it might be a while.

sm, I'll keep working on it for you. I know I can redeem you, I just have to find the right record. Smiley
