Interesting. For a good while where I live in CA had some of the highest gas prices in the country. Now at around  $2.60, looks like we're high average.

CA is now removing MTBE from its gasoline. One group of enviros pushed for MTBE to reduce pollution, now another has pushed for its removal because it's a pollutant. This is supposed to drop our gas prices statewide by 10% or so from what I hear.

Nah.  I'm from the "good" part of the state.  At least the part that hasn't been completely overrun with NY libs.  Actually, all of those gas stations except for a few are no more than 15 miles from me.  I'm just over a bridge from AC.
