I have been looking for tunable LED bulbs that are controlled by WiFi and do not need a separate hub. The pickings have been slim, until I saw this new item from Costco: https://www.costco.com/WiZ-WiFi-BR30-Smart-Bulb-Color-4-pack.product.100467835.html
I bought two packs and swapped out the eight floodlights in my cathedral ceiling in the living room. These are amazing. I downloaded the app, paired up the bulbs and now I can control them via voice through Alexa. 16 million colors and the bulbs have various pre-defined modes with different colors and intensities. I can tell already my wife is annoyed with 'party' mode, so I will be using that a lot. I am thinking of buying two more packs and swapping out the kitchen can lights, where I have often wished for brighter light.

See if they have a "fireworks" mode in the app. If she hates party she will really love the fireworks. ;)

Will the lights change with the beat of music? That could be even more annoying!

Millcreek is probably old enough to appreciate disco.

Back in the day, I had a double-knit polyester pink leisure suit, acrylic shirt and puka shell necklace! I called that outfit 'The Panty Dropper'.

Only 64,000 shades of white?
Damned, for that much money I'd expect to get 128,000.

Unfortunately, the lighting system does not seem to pulse to music. I am trying to figure out if I can set up an Alexa skill for the lights to flash red and the Star Trek alarm klaxon to go off simultaneously. This will be important when the house is under attack by Cardassians.

Or Kardashians.

She doesn't even know what the Star Trek Red Alert Sound is, good luck getting the lights to flash also. ;)
