Any Coldplay fans?
« on: December 04, 2005, 08:25:46 AM »
Just wanted to say that I found this '4-string quartet tribute to coldplay' online, and it's fantastic. It's ten of coldplay's songs played by a 4-string quartet, as you might imagine, and the songs convert into classical play very well. It's just another way to re-experience a song or band, if you like them much. Songs include Clocks, Yellow, Daylight, Don't Panic, Everything's Not Lost, God Put a Smile Upon Your Face....

I've had this disk playing on and off for several days now and it's pretty hard to put away.

Two spooky thumbs up!

I didn't know there was any other type of a string quartet than one with 4 people in it... :p I also enjoyed their Nine Inch Nails tribute CD.

Haha, then clearly you haven't heard of the 3-string duet tribute to the dave matthews band. One person plays both a cello and a violin simultaneously. Yea, impressive. (If I didn't make lots of mistakes, I wouldnt be me!)

I'll have to check out the Nine Inch Nails cd, thanks-

Just heard "Let's Talk" on the radio this morning. The opening riff sounds eerily like this. As discussed here.

Every penny you send to Coldplay goes to support citizen disarmament and global socialism. The lead singer is an active and vocal supporter of: http://www.stophandgunviolence.com/home.htm

I fight with my wife about it all the time...she loves them...I think their songs all sound the same and can't stand their politics. Makes it hard to pony up any $$ for things Coldplay related.

I like Coldplay ok.
I'm more of a classic rock fan though.
But I like a lot of other things.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

Coldplay just seem to me like the band that people listen to because they are attempting to make music like what Radiohead did in the late 90s. And not doing a very good job of it.

Not a fan. Yellow is catchy though.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.
