Police hope they will be able to find new clues Friday in their search for the killer who gunned down a man as he sold ice cream in southwest Houston.
Investigators believe ice cream vendor Mercer Reyes, 54, was robbed and shot at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Mullins and Bissonnet.
Police said they do not have any suspects, but a witness said he saw a red car leaving the scene about the time the crime occurred.
On May 26, another ice cream vendor was fatally shot in southwest Houston on Gessner near Bellaire as he pushed an ice cream cart.
Authorities have not determined if the crimes are connected.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
This has got to give you some bad karma. I don't necessarily believe in reincarnation, but if I did I suspect shooting the ice cream man would cause you to return as a worm on a hot parking lot.
