Can someone 'splane the "Onavo Extend" app to me?
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:50:53 AM »
Is this something I should be using?   I connect both of my PCs and my iPad to the internet using my iPhone 5 as a hot spot.  I share a 6 gig data plan with the wife.
So far, I have not exceeded that limit, but would this app help?

It's a VPN-proxy between your phone and the Onavo datacenters.

They use compression software to reduce the size of all data transferred between your phone and the internet.  Their proxy servers in their datacenter compress the data, and the onavo client on your phone decompresses it.
