"This is how we are going to disperse the crowds if they are armed"

Pretty much.  Anything resembling an attempt at a "million m4 march" will meet this response.

Drudge has an article about something going on in houston. Interagency training involving the army, helos, and i assume some sort of civilian law enforcement. Also remember there was a video article some months back about marines cross training to assist law enforcement. They are preparing to violate posse comitatus folks. No way around it

The fact that our armed forces conduct FIBUA excercises in the middle of any conveniently located town/city over here suddenly seems extremely sinister. =(

All the SOAR guys I know would never go along with that.

Most states' National guard has a counterdrug task force containing aviation assets etc, and train alongside the civvie law enforcement for that mission. In fact, half the folks out at an erad op i participated in were NG.

That said, if the .mil and other gov orgs wage war on gun owners, There will be major consequences for them. Lots of gun rights advocates work in .gov/ LE not only as trigger pullers, but logistics, IT... etc

Do you suppose these are psy-ops intended for intimidation?

Knowing they are prepared/preparing to do that to me isn't going to make me compliant, but instead make me seek out alternatives to prevent it from happening.

1) Maybe someone is filming a movie and the Army or NG is using it to get some training in.  It just happens to be over a big city because that's where the movie is set.

2) Or maybe they are trying to provoke someone into doing something premature stupid.   [tinfoil]

Other than the Warthog, don't aerial guns usually eject their empties out into the blue? Even if they are blanks, I would expect a serious falling object damage risk.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

M61 20mm puts the empties back in the drum just like the GAU-8 does, IIRC.  If you look at pix, there are two feed chutes.  It's likely required, where else would they go?  Most of the time, the gun is on the front of the aircraft, so you wouldn't want to ingest cases (think f-18)

What really gets me about the Miami video is that they go beyond maneuvers and are firing blanks... WTF for? Are they trying to gauge the public's sensitivity to military activity on their streets?...

And regarding the Houston video, (full video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd9UO3e6piU )note how all those guys on the ground look like people you may find at the range... they are all dressed like what your average american shooting enthusiast might be wearing.

Hmmpf.

Before I went to Iraq we trained in mockups of Iraqi cities. Looks like the Army is training to fight in American cities.
