Got the tuner out and changed the program on my diesel from "Mild towing performance"  to "WW2 Destroyer smokescreen of choking coal black smoke".

And then drove around Tappan Square, which is the hub of Oberlin College,  or as I like to call it, Berkeley East Campus.  The only way it could be better, would be to hook up a steel trailer, and pull a pile of burning tires around.

Al Sharpton being an idiot doesn't make me wanna join the KKK, Earth Day being stupid doesn't make me wanna be a bad steward.

I broke 1000 CFL bulbs for the mercury in them, then spent the day letting little kids play with the "magic metal beads".
I promise not to duck.

Wish I could say the same.  I just wish my carbon foot was bigger.  Carbon Foot, good name for a band.  A band with a big, smoke-belching tour-bus.

More or less tongue in cheek.  Besides, the planet has survived worse,  I doubt if a little smoke for smoke's sake will hurt anything.   That, and my NWTF and Ducks Unlimited donations should be penance enough.

Yeah, I don't figure anyone on here really means it. And it's not like a manufacturer dumping many thousands of times the legal limit of toxic material into a river or something seriously harmful.

Nothing seriously harmful, no.  Now, if I wasn't on a serious budget-crunch until our paychecks come in next Friday, then yes, I would seriously think about parking my truck on campus for a few hours, and letting it run.  Then put some kind of sign on it, just so folks notice.  It's a beater already, so it's not like they'll hurt it too much.   =)

My VFW post, about 30 miles from where I live.  =|

Well, that's way closer than my place.  ;)  (maybe not as scenic)

OTOH, just think of all the diesel fuel that you could have turned into black smoke

I triggered a volcano in Iceland.  Top that, ya weenie bunch of anti-Earf pikers.

Actually, I had a facepalm moment the other day talking with global warming true believer about the volcano.  She said something to the affect of "thank Gaia for the volcano, think of all the carbon dioxide and air pollution being prevented while the planes are all grounded.  We need more volcanoes!"  I wasn't quite sure how to respond to that.

Should have asked her to open a vein to prevent all her future carbon footprints.

I believe choking back laughter would be the most correct response.

It was plenty funny in retrospect, but at the time I was so dumbfounded I didn't think to laugh at her.
