Political insiders I know are drooling at the thought of candidate Michelle Obama running for Senate. As a starting point. They laud her tremendous experience, her intelligence, and (probably most important to them) her incredible name recognition to gain votes.
I'm not doubting your statement, I'm not even surprised by it. I am going to refute the insiders, though.
Let's look at her experience: She had a job at a hospital that was so important, the hospital left it unfilled when she left, where she worked hard to make sure the "charity" patients were dumped on other hospitals and then she was the wife of a president. Am I missing some "experience" here?
Her intelligence: ... Ok, I've got absolutely no evidence one way or the other. Or is this a "she's black, so of course she's smart" statement?
Name recognition: Hey! They finally got one right.
Now allow me to reiterate a point I made last campaign: Electing the wife of a previous leader is banana republic-type actions.
