Spider orgy.
You misspelled "Flamethrower orgy."

Where did you get that picture of the hornet???  I nearly fainted...

The Japanese Hornet is evil incarnate in an exoskeleton.  I saw a Discovery/TLC/AP somethingorother show that had cameras inside a commercial beehive invaded by a 20 or 30 of these things.  They slew 60 THOUSAND honeybees, with zero casualties.  Those jaws were just snapping 'em in half.  There was a foot-thick mound of bee-pieces, and some lustily gorging hornets.  Super slo-mo, HD horrification.

I believe that paleo-humans were preyed upon by gy-normous spiders, way back when.

As much as the DnD nerd in me wants that to be true, physics of exoskeletons prevent it.

It is, I've seen the video there before.  =D

30 hornets vs. 30,000 bees

The bees getting slaughtered are European honey bees. Native Japanese honey bees have a interesting defensive mechanism that would have allowed them to fend off/kill the hornets.

I'd love to see that Hornet one in high def,  the quality is awful.

And watching that gives me this nervous twitch to grab a can of Raid..

Stetson in full on combat mode...

I *HATED* that scene in LOTR.

My wife laughed at me, IN THE THEATER, when Shelob came on the screen, because she KNEW what was going through my head.

Frodo (or Sam - but it would be faster if Frodo started with it) needed Gandalf's Mystic Thrower Of Flame for that part.  Just sayin'.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

Going out on a limb here- Eriol?
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought
