We've got one of those at Rte. 59 and I-88.  I was surprised, but it actually works pretty well in preventing traffic backing up onto Westbound I-88 from the exit and from Northbound Naperville Rd. backing to Diehl.

I'm sure it works great when everyone knows what's going on. The problem comes in because nobody knows WTF they are doing. You don't just plop something like that down in redneck country and expect it to work out well. Plus, it's not like it's an area that really needs something like that.

I'll admit, I'm probably never going to like it since my first introduction to it was in the middle of the night while it was still getting the final touches put on it and I was cranky before I even got in the car that night. Don't ask me to figure out new traffic patterns when I'm sleepy, in my PJ's and I just want to go back to bed.

Yeah, we're getting roundabouts as well. There is one new one that was actually well placed and I don't mind it at all because it works in that spot with the traffic that area gets.

OTOH, there is a big lot of condo's that feeds into a small shopping center and they put roundabouts at EVERY intersection. It's really annoying and it makes me dizzy. Simple four way stops would have worked fine. 

 Same area has a bunch of really obnoxious and poorly placed speed bumps all over. If they want speed bumps, fine, but at least do a full on cross the entire road bump. These things are super high, but they're just barely the width of the wheel base of your average small sedan and they're aren't well marked.

Those types of junctions are getting more popular. Supposedly they have the lowest crash rate, and no stop lights or stop signs.
