A Guy Who Stands Behind His Product
« on: February 01, 2022, 06:55:34 PM »
I guess this is a guy who stands behind his product. They claim 9mm@1400fps. I would have liked to see him lift his shirt so we could see the damage, and I'm surprised he didn't crack a rib.

Guy from Second Chance used to shoot himself frequently to demonstrate his faith in his vests.

I guess a severe bruise or even a couple of cracked ribs is preferable to a sucking chest wound.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

The janitor at the end was a nice touch.

I know little about bullet resistant glass. I wonder how many shots in the same spot it takes for failure? It looks like they got quite a few into a smaller area.

I would say not a great many, but for cars like that, I doubt they are intended to stick around once gunfire starts.

I have always been curious how many rounds even steel armor would take in the same spot.  Even with the AR500 steel plates I have, 5.56 M855 rounds will nick the plate a little.  I would be curious how many rounds it would take in the same spot to tear it up.  With true AP ammo, it may not be that many.  I remember as a kid wondering if concentrated 50 caliber fire could eventually penetrate tank armor.

Mrgunsandgear does a bunch of test to destruction videos for various armor. There may be one there with the AR500 steel.

There was a brake shop here that stood behind every brake job they did.
They would have been crazy to stand in front of one.

All chest wounds suck.

Saflex was one of the product lines of the Monsanto Chemical Group (spun off into Solutia, and then purchased by Eastman). When I was working on the spinoff, they were also working with outfits that made "bulletproof" glass. They did ballistic testing, along with explosive testing. Stuff like hand grenades. One of the guys had a .38 Super round halfway through a chunk of the stuff on his desk. Pretty cool.
