Kentucky Ballistics is a little over the top at times, but this is interesting because it's big bore FMJ on extra-deep ballistic gel.

No surprise that .460 and .500 Smith are preferable when critters are big, pissed, and bitey. Most surprising thing to me is 10mm out-penetrated .44 mag. You'd darn sure want to be backstop-aware for any of them.

Short barrels too including the 10mm being a G29 Compact
Most of them will do even better with the longer barreled versions.
Surprised 45-70 being a rifle round did that well with such a short barrel

Isn't there something about straight-walled cases losing less velocity when barrel lengths go down?

A ballistic gel bear? Didn't know they made them.
That 45-70 and 500 looked like they had a lot of steam left when they left the block.

They just don't gain as much when the barrel gets longer. :p

So don't use hard cast ammo for 2 legged defense and 10mm might be plenty for most bears.

Over penetration might be a problem

I would have liked to see what the spread was out at 15 or 20 yards.

Might be useful when the sand people are after you and moving in single file to conceal their numbers.
