Homicide at my workplace last night
« on: January 09, 2013, 10:39:34 PM »
I work at a large state university/hospital complex. Left work at 6:30pm with a colleague to eat nearby, with plans to be dropped off at the parking garage where I park my vehicle daily. While at dinner, approx. 7:45pm, got an emergency alert describing a dangerous situation on campus. Returned to find garage entrance blocked by police vehicles. A female employee was shot to death in the same garage in an apparent domestic violence escalation. Suspect is in custody.

Only direct connection to me is the location. Still, it's unsettling, and a reminder to stay alert.

  • I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

glad you're not involved, are you allowed to carry at work?
Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".
