It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

The goblin he smacked sure has a hard head.

Beer bottle broken on the back of his head and he still gets off shots and escapes.

Hope the good guy fully recovers.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Yep.  I am sure the hero and bad guy both browned their drawers.

I feel a little better about my fellow man right about now.

Way to go pops.

Next time, two bottles.....

Glad to hear that he's going to be alright.  I'd shake his hand and buy his drinks.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Use enough....bottle!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

maybe this will help more folks are passing the hat for the old man  right now we are trying to get the sheriff to get the money to him. for obvious reason we don't want his name broadcast.  going upside his head after shots fired is real large

Damn!  He hit that guy hard too.  I wonder if a can of beans might have been a better weapon?  I'm amazed the bad guy didn't go down for the count on that.

Another thing...  If he (the old guy) had a knife, would he have been justified in stabbing the goblin in the jugular?  I think so, otoh that might not have worked much better than the beer bottle...

"It's good, though..."

Old guy's damn brave, that's for sure. Wish he'd had a gun and the bad guy had been the one shot though.  =|

Oh, I give the guy full points for bravery and effort (not that they're mine to give).  But sadly, the perp shot him four times and escaped.  Too bad the old gent was not armed.

Yeah the oldyoung man comported himself well. In times of stress, us old guys just get pissed and think we can do all we used to. Adrenaline, I guess.

That said, I could not have taken that shot with a bottle to my head. The lowlife must have been tripped out.

Hopefully you're including gift certificates for the nearest gunstore and CCW instructor.

Then perhaps a congratulatory note informing him of what a great place Virginia is to live, and notations of the benefits if he decided to "retire" to Virginia?
