Our tax dollars at work.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Does it have to be "all" for RKL's comment to be considered on target?
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I question the validity of #1. Life expectancy seems to indicate otherwise.

I question the validity of #1. Life expectancy seems to indicate otherwise.

By "western diet", I'm fairly sure they mean "American diet". Life expectancies are higher in Europe and Japan than they are here, for instance, and they don't exactly eat a western diet in Japan.

I don't expect the lower life expectancies elsewhere in the world would suddenly rise if only they'd eat more fried food and sugar, but are more likely tied to standards of medical care available, levels of violence, availability of any good food, etc.

Turns out, the cliché is true, according to a study published in January in the European Journal of Personality. There's good news, though: Online friendships boosted shy teens' self-esteem, which prompted them to find more friends both online and offline.

Doesn't sound like Americans working on that one.

Some of the other journals were popular magazines, not scientific journals.

If it is tax dollars you can be pretty sure there is no "work" going on.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

And the 14th most obvious study of 2013 found that anything stupid the government might have "invested in," they probably did.  =)

Got any proof they weren't?
