The surprise for me is that I'm not hearing about those in favor of polygamous marriages pushing for government recognition and legitimacy. The case for polygamy was always stronger than gay marriage IMHO.

Or maybe they are and the media has decided it's not worth covering.

At least a couple court cases I've heard of where that argument is being advanced.
