Thanks DD and Seeker, the sites have been bookmarked and I can't wait to get a good read from them.

and Breda's site.....

Trouble is, she has shut down.  Seems she feels she accomplished all there was to do.  (Silly librarian!)

But the archives are still there.

I'll bring the M4 and Uzi.  Both are good platforms for learning.  Low noise and recoil.  Plus I can teach basic rifle with my eyes closed.

Oddly, I'm not as much of a pistol guy.

Oh gawds!  Um....yeah....You saw how nervous I was with the .22, Strings.  I don't think I'm ready for an Uzi.

Trust me, lady.  I've trained semi literate savages like the French.  You'll be fine.

Uzi is semi, and weighs a lot.  Shoots a pistol round.  Probably less felt recoil than the .22.  Had plenty of female folks I've trained.  M4 is the best to teach.  Uzi is for entertainment and cheaper practical practice.

Ok, RevDisk.  If you think I'll be fine, then I trust your judgement.

Nope.  re judgment: On plenty of other things, sure.  On training, of any kind, no need to worry.  I do not tolerate any unsafe nonsense when it comes to firearms, explosives or similar.

Off the range, on the other hand.  Well, let's just say, I find ways of entertaining myself

Well you can ask Strings about my first lesson.  I take being a student of anything very seriously.
And what's wrong with entertaining ones self?   =)

But seriously, when you are handling firearms, never feel pressured to do anything you are not comfy with.  Take all the time in the world if you need it.  Exploring new stuff is a lot of fun, and everyone will encourage you.  But safety always comes first, and you are the ultimate authority when it comes to your own safety.

Relax, enjoy yourself and follow the four rules, you'll always have a great time.

Yep. Yep. Yep.

I think this pretty much sums up the philosophy around here.

Very similar to the rules during sword class.  Live blade or not, safety is always first.

Exactly.

Gun safty is no joke.

On the plus side, it's mostly commen sense and a moron can manage to not get killed.

As are most things involving safety. Yet morons keep getting killed....

And I still don't understand the world.

A very tight nutshell.  I've already suspended one student for not being safe.

Oh yeah: I can vouch for her being VERY focused on safety, and learning.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure we'll get to have her play with the M4, bro. I think the range is pistol only...  :(

So find another range.  You have a whole two weeks.   [ar15]
