I was on a lake near the Oconee nuke plant in SC.  God willing, I will watch the 2024 eclipse from within totality, as well.

If anyone can suggest a place in the path in Texas, yeah, that'd be great.  April 8, some really flat, remote horizon location with predictably clear weather.  Bonus points to any that will join the Fellowship of the (Solar) Ring.  I'll cook you a fine camp meal.

Killeen should be good.  For the best chance of good weather, you want to be west of I-35.  Don't have to be very far west; when I lived in Temple, the the climate was different on both sides of town and the interstate was the dividing line.

From what I saw of this last run up to insanity called "<James Earl Jones Booming Voice>The Eclipse of a Lifetime<James Earl Jones Booming Voice>" you really should get your eclipse glasses now. In fact if you could get several thousand Craigslist may be your friend two days or so before the event. ;)

I saved mine, in preparation for the next significant eclipse visible in Seattle: August 23, 2044.  I will be 84 then.  Possibly living as a head in a jar, like Futurama.

A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?
