Your wife?

Mine carries dog treats in her purse, just in case. ;)

Mine doesn't carry a purse, but would likely have some in it if she did.  This is the same Lady who goes to DQ to get cones for the dogs ;/

When mine goes for fast food, she brings back cheeseburgers for the "girls".  Me?  I carry Slim Jims in my lunch bag so that when I come home I can give the girls "meat sticks".  They expect them, I carry up to 30 or so with me so that they're not disappointed.

(They're always glad to see Dad come home from work.)

We take our dog out for an ice cream cone every so often.  She's quite a crowd-pleaser.   =)

I sometimes let my dog pick small pieces of food off the ground....
I am not much for feeding people food to dogs.  Dog treats and dog food only.

I will try to get a pic of the guinea pigs standing at attention for treats when I am at the cage/recreation yard with a handful of dog food.  Yes they eat dog food, the dogs eat fruits and veggies, so I got the pigs to eat dog food to keep it fair. >:D

I love the black Chow, GS.  I have one just like him.  He's the most protective / loyal dog I've ever owned.

I carry dog treats in my work truck.  In the summer, as I go about my lawn mowing route, there are certain dogs (some are customers' dogs and some are their neighbors') that go crazy as soon as they hear or see us pull up.

There's one street where we have about a dozen accounts, and two of the dogs there follow us down the street.  They don't listen when their owners call them back.

Our evening routine is to get the dogs outside to do their business by 10:00-10:30 PM.  Then they race inside, because there are cookies awaiting them in the master bedroom before lights out.  Once cookies are devoured, each pup relocates to their individual beds and we're all down for the night.  Sometimes they are so intent on the bedtime cookie routine that they rush their outside time - especially when the mercury was hovering at -3 the other night.   =D

my boyfriends dog has figured out that i sometimes bring treats home from work and i put them in the side pocket of my bag.
she now checks it every time i come over.

also, my dog doesn't expect you to bring her something when you come home. instead she brings you stuff. and when i say stuff, its whatever was closest and easiest for her to pick up, which means it could be one of her squeezy toys, a pair of socks or even an empty two liter bottle.

In the morning during my alone computer time, all three come to me for their treats.  The middle one, Cocoa, comes over and sits at my side and just looks at me with "the look" and waits.  If I don't respond right away she woofs at me.  If I still don't respond she comes up to my side and grabs me by the elbow and tugs at me to get up.  If I ignore her Bear the black lab/chow on the right Woofs at me.  If you know the lab base WOOF, it does get your attention.  I get up and go through the routine, each dog gets 3 biscuits one at a time IF they are sitting.  I don't give them a command, they just know the routine.  After all 3 get their three biscuits, they then get a rawhide chew.  When the treat lady gets up, it is her turn.

Let's be honest here, Dogs don't care what they eat the ice cream out of.

My dawg is down with the Frosty Paws. It's also quite entertaining to stick them in the freezer mixed up with all the other frozen confections and wait for someone to accidentally (start to) eat one.  =D

Quite true since most dogs don't really care what they might lick.

My Dad's dog actually snubs the frosty paws a bit.  She will eat them but she gives you a sort of look first as if to say "really dude...  no real ice cream?".  She usually gets 1/2 of one of those single service vanilla ice creams that come with a wooden spoon each night.

Here's the place to be:  http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2210217385 Been featured on two different shows on The Food Channel.

And they open this weekend!!!!!!!!!!

College girls, town girls, and the best frozen custard evar.

Know what you want by the time you get to the window, and have your money ready.

If the economy is good the penny dixie drinking cup machine will be stocked.  Otherwise, dogs slurp from the fountain like the rest of the crowd.

stay safe.

see, that would be dangourous in my house. well... maybe not with pearl, who is a very lady like eater, but graham and southwest will just inhale your fingers along with their cone.

although, while he doesn't snub ice cream, southwest prefers pizza.

Funny thing about that is that Cocoa, the cutie in the middle, will gently take anything out of your fingers, unless the other dogs are around, then she will grab and likely get your fingers in the process.  Doesn't hurt, just makes me jump.  Boone has always been gentle and Bear who could easily take your hand in the process is so careful his lips never touch your skin.  I sometimes think the more powerful the dog the easier they are to hand feed.

My pooch always seemed to prefer spaghetti with tomato sauce over any other type of people food, even over meat.  He liked pizza, too.

What's up with that?  Is there something about tomatoes that really lights up doggy taste buds?

its weird, all the girl dogs all have the same begging tactics too. even though bandit died years before pearl and sadie came along.

they sit quietly under the table and rest their chin on your knee. they also take food much nicer then the boys.

however, i think a large part of the boys rude habits is becuase dad has a tendancy to toss food or hold it in front of them so the grab, whereas i hold the food in my palm and hold it under their nose. both boys will back off and take things nicely when i raise my voice and remind them of manners.

pearl likes dried spaggetti. the others will eat it if they see her getting it, but she's the one who goes gonzo over it.
and dad's old dog, Northwest, loved tomatos.

dunno, but I have had to chicken wire tomato plants for 3 separate dogs now.  They loved to snitch cherry tomatoes off of the vine as soon as they started turning red!  My parents current dog loves veggies, she goes batshit insane when somebody starts cutting up red bell peppers.  She loves that stuff.

I agree, all the dogs I have had love carrots, the spines out of lettuce, celery, and etc.  One dog I know loves ice, if you get ice from the freezer she recognizes the sound and comes running.

Bernie sucks down ice cubes like they're candy. If he hears the ice cube dispenser in the fridge door being operated, he's front and center posthaste.

I used them as treats when we lived in the heat and humidity that is Spacecoast Florida.

Now that we're safely in Wisconsin, it's fun to watch both dogs fight over the biggest icicles that fall off of the eaves in winter. It's like a fox hunt, they'll dig down through the snow as they see them.

They get flustered when the icicles break off as they come through the door with them sideways, too.   =D
