I thought that was a prerequisite for working at MSNBC.

Here is another story about the same thing, giving money to political candidates.  In light of the horrible coverage MSNBC had of the election, with Olberman, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow making snarky comments all night and generallly acting like a bunch of junior high kids, I find some of the news story a little bit ironic.

According to one part of the story, giving contributions may jeapordized your standing as an impartial journalist.  I wasn't aware that Olberman was either impartial OR a journalist.  Silly me!

A real journalist is smart enough to give anonymously.

Can that still be done?  I thought all political donations had to be tracked.

Funny....Olbermann's being suspended for giving thousands of dollars to candidates by his employer who gave millions of dollars to candidates....  =|

Methinks there's more to this mix....
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

Me too. There's all sorts of stuff coming out in the last few hours about other reporters, both liberal and conservative, who have done the same thing. There's no way MSNBC didn't know about that before today. There must be more going on (not that I don't have just a wee bit of Schadenfreude, given what a jackanape Olbermann is).

I wonder if the money guys at the media outlets have realized what their Olbermann's, Matthews and others have done to their companies' reputations and are doing some house-cleaning to win back viewers.
