Title: Hypothetical Two Nations
Post by: Silver Bullet on November 12, 2008, 12:17:35 AM
Speaking entirely hypothetically, if barry tried to take away all guns, causing the country to split into two parts, how would the part that contained the real Americans be different from what we have now ?

For instance, hypothetically, I don’t see how our Constitution would change much, other than we took a stricter interpretation of the Second Amendment and required all able-bodied men over 15 to have firearms and be proficient in same.

I would hope that we would regain control of our schools.  The kids are being brainwashed to a socialism ideal, and I’m curious how we would prevent that from happening.  Control of schools should be more local, I guess, as well as a more decentralized media.

Would we control our borders by preventing the socialists from fleeing their “utopia”, after the reality of their North Korean-like situation sets in after a few years ?  Or would we welcome them, but without voting rights for five years ?  Assign them to mandatory border patrol for a year ?

And where do you think the borders would run ?  Remember, they don't have to follow states borders.  The "other" country could be left with the San Francisco + Los Angeles + Boston + NYC +NJ +Wash DC + Chicago + Madison + Detroit + Madison.

Hypothetically, it’s not too early to start a dialog.

Uh, dude, your hypothetical involves a Civil War breaking out right after a President was elected with 52-53% of the vote.

Ain't happening.

That's why it's called a hypothetical.   ;/

Well I doubt it would split very evenly, besides a few areas of concentration I think that we are all pretty well mixed. Not like during the first Civil War where there was a pretty distinct ideology line.

Well hopefully us real socialists will get our act together and we can create a real communist/anarchist society, instead of all those democrats, and social democrats, ie not real socialists, from taking over, or a tyranny like the socialist in name only North Korea. :D

No, there would be defined borders, with a massive migration going both ways.

Most of the productive people, whether they voted Republican or Democrat, would come over to the Free side.  The socialists (that is, those people without skills who want to be in charge of people who have skills), the tort lawyers, the socialists masquerading as environmentalists, the socialists masquerading as teachers, the welfare class, the folks who lap up everything the liberalMedia and Hollywood tell them, would all gravitate to the "Utopia" side.

So, no; it wouldn't be mixed for long.

Hypothetical, and not political.
