Very interesting,  a modern twist on things like khukri or sword sheaths that are hide stretched over wood.

I'd probably opt for one of his simpler versions. I like the idea of having a sharpening tool carried in the sheath, but most I've seen look too clumsy. A knife is a small, light, compact, easily carried thing, and the sheath shouldn't mess that up.

I carry a flashlight and a multitool on my belt.  If my phone wasn't broken that'd be on there too.
I've considered moving my pocket knife to the belt because these work pants just don't agree with pocket knives at all.

What I really need though is a belt holster for a utility knife.  Use those more at work than the pocket knife.
