What is Ranked Choice Voting?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

Note that there are a bunch of variations, which makes it even more confusing and non-standardized. For instance, I mentioned above that the ranked choice voting they want for Idaho forces you, as Australia does, to put a mark by every candidate. Some systems apparently let you leave slots blank. So different states could be using different ranked choice systems in the same election if this were to become the standard for us.

Expects free, sorry meal plan, food to be delivered to them.
Talk about entitled

Columbia student mocked for viral video telling reporters that occupiers might die without food delivery

Show me where the student meal plan includes room service -- through a police line.

Yep, that may have to do with the prevailing flow of traffic into and out of the school entrance, how the road is used, etc. It's likely that the traffic engineers who did the study on that intersection didn't believe that the flashing yellow light system was necessary for the other side of the road.

The way I view it, if one sign says "School zone ahead" and the next sign says "End of school zone," there's no school zone and they can't (legally) ticket me for doing 35 instead of 25. There's no sign that says anything like "School zone starts here."

Look at what happened in Alaska with Palin. Two republicans and neither would drop out. The dem flipped the seat by getting all the other votes.

The dem flipped the seat by funding the other republican which is what will happen every place rcv is tried.

In a bit of make you feel better news:

Commies at UNC Chapel Hill tried to do the "cut down the American Flag and replace it with the Palestinian flag" thing, and some frat boys objected, kept Old Glory from hitting the ground, and put it back up the pole.

Just to drive home to the Commies how much everyone hates their stunts, someone started a gofundme to throw that frat a party.  At the time of this post 7000 people have donated $217,000 to buy those kids a beer.

My father was engineer of a town of about 10,000 in Pennsylvania in the last stage of his career. Town had been founded in the late 1700s.

They were doing water main renewals in part of the town and came across several sections of wooded water mains that, as far as anyone could tell, had been installed in the early 1800s.

Still perfectly functional.
