...is what I must be because I just don't see the problem here...
One of Hillary's campaign workers said that Obama's teenage drug use would be a problem for him and that the Republicans would use it against him.
Now that guy's resigned and there seems to be a big hoopla among the democrats about what a blunder it was to say such a thing.
WHY?
The guy's right. If Obama gets the nod his admitted use of marijuana (regular use if I'm reading the new right) and use of cocaine will definitely be used against him.
What's the deal? Why did the guy have to resign?
-
In the liberal world, you're not supposed to condemn people for being longtime users of illegal drugs. If they've gone through the secular holy ritual of Rehab, especially VIP Celebrity Rehab, all their sins are forgiven.
-
I'm with you on it. I, however, think its going to be a dead duck, and the people who will care about his drug use wouldn't vote for him anyways. Obama will successfully defend it by pointing out we all make mistakes when we are younger, and claiming it proves that he is very open and honest with us unlike his rivals.
-
It's a big story right now because the left is finally allowing themselves to admit out loud that Hillary isn't the the messiah. All of the sudden they're allowed to discuss how bad a job she's doing, and they're discussing it en masse.
It has nothing to do with the drug issue, and everything to do with the groupthink and doublethink the left collectively abides by.

.Now that guy's resigned and there seems to be a big hoopla among the democrats about what a blunder it was to say such a thing.
The big deal is that Hillary's campaign was attempting to raise the issue of Obama's past drug use, while pretending that they have nothing to do with it--they are only commenting on what the dirty Republicans will probably say... (innocent whistle). But the staffer did such a clumsy job of it that flak came back on Hillary, so he's history. As he should be: what the hell is her campaign paying all those anonymous sources for, if not to put stuff out anonymously?

I've read that anonymous accusation stuff is what the Clinton team did in the 90's too. The point being, that everyone is wise to that now and it won't fly this time around.
-
The purpose of the purported "flap" is to make it look as though Mrs. Snopes Clinton might not be the socialist party's nominee.

Maybe not--but that doesn't mean it's time to start coming right out with the accusations.
-
Part of the problem is that there are a few of ditzy Democrats who actually believe that Democrats are above mudslinging and name calling and "dirty tricks". That stuff is what those evil Republicans do.
I happened to catch Rush talking about it. I think he said Hilary had just apologized for bringing it up some other way, then her staffer brought it up again. Whatever.

One of the reasons I sympathize with Obama, is that he hasn't really stooped to that level. I kinda like him for that, and if he won the Dem nomination I would have alot more respect for that party and it would be a good sign that politicians can go to higher ground if the voters support him. That said, Obama doesn't seem to have any ideological convictions at all. I get the impression he is in over his head, and says what he is advised to say. In other words, hes a fool, but an honest fool.

Obama is an empty suit and a product of the Daley machine. Period.

Quoted for truth.
But Hillary is just starting to gin up her machine against him. He won't know what hit him.
-
Hillary's machine has been pulling its punches. Now that the Inevitable Candidate is about to lose in a spectacular manner, I expect her to start getting rough. You never, ever want to be between Hillary and her destiny.
-
Waitone: You never, ever want to be between Hillary and her self-proclaimed destiny.
You left something out of a very good statement... I fixed it for you..

True either way. One of her former campaign workers said that nothing went on in the offices that was not either authorized or punished.
Getting in her way would, I think, be like getting between a mother bear and its cub.
Also, New Hampshire clean, crisp air is not agreeing with Her Viciousness. She's changing like Emperor Palpatine did when hit with force lightning whatevers.
-
Could we hit her with some force lightening whatevers? Please?
-
I think you've got it backwards. She'd be the one hitting you with force lightening.

No, HTG, if elected she'll be hitting all of us with a forced lightening of our bank accounts.

Unless of course, you're a Republican *coughGWBcough* at which point your past drug and alcohol abuse are mentioned in every other sentence.
Note: I am not a fan of GWB, but the level of hypocrisy and blatant bullshit mudslinging that is involved in politics these days simply makes me sick, no matter who the target is.
