And I see from the article that the 100,000th was delivered in November 2019.  So 8,000 pistols per month are coming out of New Hampshire.  Impressive.  I wonder what was a typical monthly production rate in WWII for the 1911.

A total of 1,878,742 M1911s were made during WW II.

Not sure if that means only pistols between between December 1941-August 1945, but just for ease sake let's go with January 1940 to December 1945 to make things a bit easier and because the American military was slowly starting to wake up by January of 1940.

That's a total of 72 months wartime production...

A little over 26,000 a month.

Obviously, though, that wouldn't have been a constant number. My guess is that, at the height of the war, the various US makers were cranking out anywhere from double to triple that number...

And that's in addition to the revolvers that S&W and Colt were supplying.

I was at the Sig Academy all day today.  Didn't see any balloons or celebrations, though.   I did see plenty of Sig 320s/M17s/M18s and most of them weren't running too well.
