Obama that is. With planned calls during the SotU address this week for tax hikes on two of the taxes I pretty much hate the most: Capital gains and the death tax.
Somehow Dems have been able to get the perception across that anyone who has commodities is Mr Moneybags with the top hat from the Monopoly game. Certainly this initial call is for those with over $500K combined incomes, but it never stops there. They never consider how many people that invest in the stock market do so with wages from jobs. Wages THEY WERE ALREADY TAXED ON!
As for the death tax, it's just evil and needs to permanently go away. The idea of the government being able to say that once someone dies, all their property - again property that has already been taxed once - is up for grabs for government taxation again (because how dare they have saved their earnings and accumulated wealth!) is just disgusting.
I need to calm down, because in the end, it will likely only end up being theater. I don't think even any RINOs will sign on to it (and hopefully not as an attachment to some bill), and there is already plenty of commentary going on, even from the left, asking why Obama is bringing this up now, versus when he had control of Congress and the votes.
