Obama blames his low poll numbers on racism
« on: January 19, 2014, 03:02:21 PM »

I don't think he's ever actually said it before, or at least it's fairly rare for him to do his own race-baiting.

I can probably think of twenty black men I would vote for twice over any white man I've seen run for president in my lifetime.  I can probably come up with a hundred that I'd vote for three times before Obama.

Also, I'm really surprised this took so long.  I was figuring two years, tops.

Yeah, it couldn't be that he hasn't done a good job as president or anything.   ;/

He sure loves the racism. I just read a report on his New Yorker interview where he said the war on pot is racist. Pot, meet Obama. :)

It's so bad that the Kenyans are claiming he was born in the US.

I actually think Obama is right. Just not in the way he wants us to think.

The soft racism of affirmative action and social promotion found within academia, and that emanates from political Left this country is exactly why he finds himself where he is today.
I promise not to duck.

The linked article doesn't quote O as saying anything of the sort.  He's quoted as saying some white folks don't like him because he's black, which is definitely true.  And he says there are some black folks that give him the benefit of the doubt because he's black, which is also definitely true.

Nothing in the article proves the assertion of the headline.

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black president,” Obama said in the article by David Remnick, appearing in the magazine’s Jan. 27 edition.

“Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black president,” Obama said in his most direct comments on how race has affected his political standing since he’s been in office.
The article indicates he was talking about changes over the last two years.  In that case, he IS blaming his reduced popularity on rascism, he just didn't say that word.  Sure, there are a few people somewhere who don't like him because he is black.  There are a few people who won't vote for the next white candidate because they are white.  But those people likely felt the same way in 2008 and haven't suddenly changed their minds in the last two years.  They are not at issue if we are looking at why his poll numbers have plummetted.

The second part pretty much explains how he got elected in the first place.

Yep. OTOH, I've never heard a white President say the converse of that, which would also be true.

. . . There are a few people who won't vote for the next white candidate because they are white . . .
There IS racism at work, and I'll go so far as to assert that it was the determining factor in the last two Presidential elections: there's a substantial part of the electorate that is SO hung up on race in the candidates they want, they would cheerfully vote for Idi Amin if he were running against Mother Teresa . . . in a decision based solely on skin color.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

Agreed. As much as I dislike Obama, he is speaking the truth, IMHO.

If he was speaking of his getting elected, it would be the truth.  5 years or so into his Presidency, it is NOT the truth.  People don't like him because he sucks as a President, he sucks as a Commander in Chief, he sucks at foreign policy, and the economy is in the tank.  Any benefit of the doubt people gave him as the First Black President has evaporated at least in part.  IMO, the rascism is more prevalent on the side of his supporters than his critics.

I am not quite as sure of the foreign policy side. If you go with the assumption that he supports the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Queda, and Muslim extremism in the Middle East, then he isn't doing so bad.

Which just  proves that the education system in this country is failing.    It's taken us 5+ years to realize we have a black president and to get our racism on.
