Okay.  That does it.  No more Wally-World on sale lawn chairs.

Yesterday, we went to the soccer games of the two youngest kids.
I sat down in my nice lawn chair, and as I pushed on the front of the arm, it broke.
GRRRRRRrrrrr....
...and this is not the first time I've sent a lawn chair across the river Styx.
...could it have anything to do with being 6'1" and 340? Naaaaahhh. Wink

We spend alot of time as spectators for our kids' activities,
...so I am now ready to...INVEST...in some HEAVY DUTY lawn chairs, and would like to buy some that will be the LAST ones I ever have to buy.  Durability, Comfort and quality are must-haves.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Go to a high end patio shop. They're going to have stuff that Wally World would never dream of carrying.

Thanks charby!
I LOVE adirondack chairs!!!  Most comfortable thing on the planet!

...but it needs to be able to be thrown in the back of the minivan and carried to the soccer field.

I came across this:

...but want to look at a few more options before I buy a pair.

Fig,

I bought one for swmbo a couple years ago.  She loves it.  I go, ahem, 240# and I am really careful when I deposit my bulk into it.  It rocks back so you are more lying in it than sitting.  Imho, it's great for lying on the deck etc, but perhaps not as a portable chair for events.

Check at some of the high end sporting good stores for one of those collapsible "WhataChair" thingy's that are sold on QVC.  I'm sure someone sells larger, stable models for real men.

A shooting buddy (tall, large fella) has one of these and I have tried it as well (short, large fella) and it's good stuff.

Tarpley,

That looks like the ticket.

Greg,

I think you may be right. At eighty bucks, it's about half what the La Fuma would cost.
It looks over-engineered (a GOOD thing), like it could hold two or three of me.

Honey/swmbo's asleep, or I'd call and order it right now.
I like to let her think I'm being accountable with purchases like that, so that I get somewhat reciprocated.

Although she did buy a thousand dollar "discounted" Carnival cruise last year with my tax refund.

For some reason she thought the rugs and a new cooker was a better purchase, tsk.  She muttered something about a rug not being able to turn me into road pizza. I overtake her one time on the motorway and she thinks I'm a loony.
