Jeez! 3 cops wounded in Texas standoff, deputy and security guard killed, another deputy wounded in Blacksburg, Va., deputy wounded in Georgia escape attempt (BG killed!) and just heard 2 or 3 troopers killed, several injured in Indiana while bike riding to raise money for families of fallen comrades! Prayers and thoughts for all involved.
I'm sure I've duplicated a thread or two but didn't see anything at a quick glance. Blacksburg is only about an hour from here. I work in a hospital w/ unarmed security. Situational awareness a bit higher than usual lately. I'm the triage nurse, sorts 'em out coming in the door. I'm probably gonna be on the scene before security; nature of the job. Have friends in the Blacksburg area and at the hospital involved.
Also, SA up r/t Aug.22. Looks like a non-event at this point.
Let's not let this thread become a debate/ finger-pointing exercise/ tactical analysis. Just pray for the Good Guys!
And what about the cops killed or injured in small, isolated incidents that never make the national news?
