Packing tape, actually.  Duct tape was too thick.  A 16x20 and a 20x20.  Problem was that it whistled like MAD and drove me... Well, mad.  Finally, I find that the red 3M filter (not the one I wanted, but good enough) comes in 36x20!  So I bought HD out of them just in case.
