So this press, this scale (or this one since it's in stock), either this or this powder measure, and these dies? And a case trimmer, although searching Midway for that leads to a ton of accessories for case trimmers, but not the actual trimmers themselves....

I'm currently pretty low volume, but I want to change that. :)

There it is. Holy crap, the case trimmer is more than the press!
You need a good reloading manual, too.  The better manuals have good instructions on how to reload, so that you don't blow yourself up, and they have data on which powders to use in what quantities, so that you don't blow yourself up.

I suggest this one.

I've heard "The ABC's of reloading" is a good primer (as it were) too.

I'm partial to the hardcover Speer manuals.

In fact, my most recent edition is loaned out to a former co-worker who was just starting out.

Reminder to self to get it back...

But it is very nice.  I picked up a Trim Pro at a garage sale for, I think it was, $4.   :O

I've got a Forster Products trimmer I can let go for cheap.  Another garage sale special, but you'd have to get pilots and collets for it.  Let me know.

I've been trying to edumacate myself, and I've noticed some people recommending the Hornady lock n' load conversion bushings for the Rockchucker, although I'm not sure if they'd be useful with the Lee turret. Any experience with these?

Also, finally found the blasted Lee case trimmer.

With a turret press you buy multiple turrets, one for each set of dies you want to use.  You install each set of dies in their own turret and leave 'em there permanently.  The turret with its set of dies becomes a single unit that you can drop into the press quickly and easily whenever you need to switch calibers.  It saves lots of time threading dies in and out, adjusting them to the right height, and fumbling with the lock rings.

The Lock n Load bushings are an attempt to bring the same convenience to single stage presses.  They let you drop an individual die into the press without having to fumble with the threading and adjustments and lock rings and so forth.  The LnL bushings are redundant in a turret press.

I use the Lee case trimmers.  They work well enough.  The case trimmer machines are probably more convenient, but I can't justify their cost.

Hmm.

Thinking about starting something in this thread.

A "Balog Reloading Care Package" - I'll start by throwing in a bunch of 7.62x51/.308 Win brass, and some .30-06 brass.

I might have some extra case prep tools laying around I can throw in the box, too.

That should get the ball rolling with Balog.

Anybody else have something to donate to the cause?

+1. A great introduction. Read it twice before attempting reloading, especially the introduction to reloading part. You can skip the chapters about chronographing, and reloading for competition and hunting, though.

I have a set of .30-06 Lee dies that need a decapping pin I can donate. I had an ebay snafu and the seller just sent them to me no charge. He had double listed a set of .30-06 RCBS dies and I was the winning bidder on one, he refunded my paypal and send me those dies as a peace offering.

I probably have some old reloading gear I could donate, but all of my stuff is buried in moving boxes right now.  Lemme go home and see just how much digging I'd have to do.

I have a spare Lee trimmer here.
You would only need to get the right gauge and holder set for your calibers.
I donated a lot of things I had spares of last year. But I check and see what else I have.

I have some spare RCBS decapping pins, but I don't know if they'll fit Lee dies.

This thread left the front page last week while I had a lot of guests in town.
I forgot to check and see what else I had sitting around.
I run down and check as soon as I get a chance.
Anyone else come up with any pieces?
