I know that your earlier post stated a few weeks but do you have a time frame in mind to pull the plug?
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Only the dead have seen the end of war!

It seems a rule of life that the few inevitably ruin things for the many. It's a shame that happened here. This was about the last forum I could come to to read posts with actual intelligent content AND amiable (usually laugh) discussion; and hopefully my own few at the very least didn't detract from that.angel Such is life, though. I'll miss this place and all of you.

I made a custom user group, help me verify that all standard functions work and that you can see the ark.

PM inbound Oleg.

I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

Looks like I'm staying around; many thanks! Still a shame the forum has to go "private," but I guess that seems to be what's needed.

...I just deputized a couple of ruffians who didn't hide in time. The appointments may be temporary, in case I catch a couple more slackers later and give the the bosun's pipes.

Sigh.  I sure hope whatever APS becomes retains it's small group feel.  This is my favorite forum, I only rarely post on THR, and no where else.

It's a shame really , I truly enjoyed the Roundtable for the short while it was up on THR and came over here right off and have always enjoyed it. Good diversity can come with open membership , trouble is so can the trolls. I don't post much cause I'm usually here late at night when I'm winding down , but I do enjoy reading every day. Goodbye RT2.....

1.  We can't let this break up The Curmudgeon Club or the Apprenticeship Chapter.   smiley

Basically, APS is becoming a gated community. The few lifeforms who can't stop from flinging gunk at humans will be left outside and flushed at intervals.

I'm physically moving to a gated community for just that reason. To make sure there is no one just wandering around making things suk.

I'm heading to Vegas baby! Well, close by anyhow. As soon as I change my residency I'm going on a spree....a buying spree.

I too have been tagged.

I do appreciate it. Thank you.

And now that I am a friend I shall write up some Vogon poetry and I will have a recital in the new place.

I am disappointed to see that the experiment in civility didn't work.  I arrived recently from THR, and I have enjoyed the conversations.  Best of luck to all invited, and thank you Oleg for having given everyone a chance!  It was very kind of you to go through the administrative and financial tasks just so people you had never met could come and talk, and it was appreciated.  I hope the next generation of APS succeeds unquestionably.

Easier to set up software boundaries to reduce the sub-simians to yipping impotently outside than to kill them off in real life.
