One of our own, Monkeyleg, has been diagnosed with leukemia. The good news is that it can be treated and he can get a Bone Marrow transplant, and has insurance that will cover the cost.
The bad news is that he needs a caregiver with him for several months after that, and insurance doesn't cover that cost. (Approx $24,000)
The worse news is that he's a hard-headed SOB who doesn't want to accept any charity.
So in light of that, you will not send him a donation. What you can do ask for his autograph. He can and WILL sell that to you.
So what you can do is send Dick what you can afford via Snail Mail. Make sure you enclose a SASE, and whatever scrap of paper you wish him to sign so that you can cherish it forever (or use it to line a birdcage, your call.
