http://www.seattletimes.com/business/clinic-falsely-told-dozens-they-had-alzheimers-suits-say/
The risk manager read this with his mouth hanging open in shock. If I was the Board of this clinic, I would be firing a number of the leadership for letting this happen. The clinic will also be having problems with the liability coverage likely not covering the lawsuits.

Can Alzheimer's be induced? Being the not very nice person that I am I think that would be a fitting punishment for the good doctor.

If I had hung around the university for one more year I could have gotten a Ph.D. in Architecture, and you louts would have to call me Doctor What's-his-name instead of just What's-his-name. I wonder what kind of clinics I could have opened as Doctor Architect?

False diagnosis of Alzheimer's is a bitch. Because the patients won't forget you gave it.

Yes, a bullet to the head will make you forget a lot of stuff. Very acute though. =)

An Ohio story from the Seattle Times? I seem to recall a hoax here fairly recently along the same lines; non-existant Seattle paper with a Texas story maybe.
Somebody with better search-fu?

As you can see from the byline, the story is from the Associated Press:
