I just had that modified 1990 5.0 in my E-150 checked and FYI the results are as follows:

HC - Limit 160 PPM / Mine = 58
CO - Limit 2.59 % / Mine = 1.45%
NOx - Limit 3360 PPM / Mine = 57

Limits are Connecticut's I think but may be federal?

I love driving the beat up looking truck into emissions because they see $ when I do. Then the new motor passes with flying colors and they get all sad...

Looks like it will pass here too.

Any way you have the specs on the build laying around?

No, I'm sorry I don't...  It was a while ago that I had it done. I'd have to see if I can back track it. Let me take a look around.

I did a little looking around and can not find the info. I also looked around online under "towing camshafts". What I found is that all the cam manufacturers have support lines and will help you choose the proper setup. I suggest you call somebody like Crane Cams and go from there?

Good luck!

Will do.

Was conteplating dropping a Winsor in there but with the computer, injection and all I don't know if I want to go thru the hassle.  Might just pull the 302 for a rebuild and put in a torquey cam with a low torque converter.  Of course I'll clean up the heads and all as well.

Yeah, a lot less hassle with a rebuild...

I'm sure if you wanted to spend a few more bucks than I did you could get even better performance.

I've heard blueprinting and balancing is a worthwhile investment.

I sure do miss the days of things like "650 double pumpers". Cheesy

Thats why I'm enjoying the rebuild on my 70 Cougar.  Looking to get 425 hp at the flywheel for the street.  So far I have about $1,000 in the motor alone.  Looking forward to stomping the *expletive deleted*it out of them there imports and Mustangs.  Smiley

Someday I'll have a garage again and build another 400+hp naturally aspirated small block. Just takes money.. Smiley

Yea it does.  Thats why I haven't been buying too many guns lately.  The income tax return will take care of the interior and paint.   Engine rebuild funds have been eating away at my gun slush funds.  Sad

My tax return is being used to pay for part of a wedding, no new guns for me this year. The good news is that she is worth it and likes my handguns, so I'll be able to buy more in the future without too much hassle.

Beware some of those imports.  I came across this thread the other day. http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=124768.  418hp/385tq out of fourbanger.  Madness, sheer madness.

But the imports don't really compare to old American Iron for body styling. Cheesy

True.  I have seen some bad ass imports on the strip.  They definitely have the advantage in weight.  My cat is around 3,200lbs.  With the horsepower, stall and gears I should be able to give them a run for the money.

Well, there's only one answer to that. Nitrous Oxide. Tongue

When I get home I'll post a link for a retrofit wiring package for Ford FI and EEC conversion for older, pre-computerized Ford conversions.  It's in my bookmarks there, not at work, oddly enough.
