ESPN must be bummed. No east coast team to favor in the big game!

Our D against Payton Manning, should be good.

Hopefully "good Rex" shows up and not bad Rex.

Certainly not the way I thought it was going to go. I really thought the depth of the Patriots would win out again. Manning looked TERRIBLE for the first 20 minutes, but then really turned it around.

I don't have a team in this fight but I'm a fan of Dungy's from back when he turned the Bucs into a winning team.

So I'll be rooting for the Lucky Charms just based on that.

With Smith on the other side that is two former Buc coaches running SuperbBasin teams. I love it.

bears certainly showed some serious mettle.

39 points when your QB only throws for 140 some yards is pretty downright impressive.

the "not bad" Rex showed up, no bad mistakes, and the bears win convincingly. if the good Rex had shown up it might have been 70 points.

holding the NO offense to 14 points is downright impressive as well.

the super bowl should be one heck of a game. Payton manning showed a lot the last two games, pulling off a win with 5 field goals last week and coming back from a 21-3 deficit this week.

bottom line is that you can win a football game 2-0, and it still counts as a win, and Payton figured out how to win these last two games.

I have to give special credit to Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith. Despite being repeatedly badgered about the "first black head coaches in the super bowl" nonsense, they stuck to football and didn't try to make hay on race. They showed a lot of class.

What a game!  I don't have much a voice today.  I will be sitting in my office with my foam horse head on all day. grin

Saw some of the Bears game Sunday.  They look tough.  Should be a good game.

Stinkin Pats.

How do you blow a 21 - 3 lead like that.

I was hoping that Manning would never be in a superbowl.  Oh, well.

I guess I will have to be a Bears fan for the game.

They thought they had it in the bag. They were looking pretty beat near the end of that last quarter. I could tell they were going to blow it.  laugh

Budweiser choke moment of the game? When that dude was wide open and DROPPED the friggin ball. They woulda won if he had run that in.  rolleyes

"Can anyone say Bill Buckner?"

Nope, but I can say Jackie Smith.

Wide open in the end zone in Super Bowl XIII against Pittsburg.

Dallas lost by 4 points.

The pity of it is that Smith is remembered mainly for that missed catch, not for a career that took him to the Hall of Fame.

I wonder how Glock Glockler's head is this morning?

Nothing will give you a pounding headache faster than watching your team piss away a lead and lose the game.

Nothing personal Mike, the Eagles are my second most despised team behind the Packers.

What is with your fellow fans?

I was at a Bears game here in Chicago and we had half a row of Eagles fans in the row in front of us. My buddy had his wife and young daughter with him. These guys were so drunk they were screaming vulgarities non stop at the Bears and all the Bears fans around them. We asked them to stop screaming the F bomb and assorted words but they just became more belligerent. It turned into a big commotion and they ended up getting tossed from the stadium.

I was disappointed to find out this was a thread about football.

I thought it was some sort of animal-gladiator contest.

My money would be on the bears.
