I don't have a tablet, so I'm good there.

Even if I did have a tablet, I wouldn't be using it as my alarm clock on my nightstand.

I was thinking about futureproofing - you never know when you might get a tablet, and ones rated for a tablet will be built a touch heavier anyways.0

I don't either, but it's the most convenient spot for me to charge it, seeing as how I tend to like reading from it before going to sleep.

If I ever get a tablet, I'll charge it on my dresser. I have my Kindle for reading.

If you should ever come across an old Droid X2 that you can wipe to factory and run on wifi only, that would make a decent alarm clock. [/snark]

I'm not so sure that my X2 is capable of being turned on.

Unless through some miracle the bullet missed all of the vital electronics.

You laugh.  My original Android phone, a Motorola Droid 2, is still sitting on my nightstand in its little docking station.  It makes a perfectly nice little alarm clock / weather display.

Nah, I'm good.

Apparently I've missed a story along the way.

I just figured that Mike was doing remnance security.  It's amazingly hard to recover data from a chip smashed with a bullet.

Even harder with one that's been run up to white hot with an oxyacetylene torch, reshaped with a sledgehammer, then tossed in a lake.

Yeah, I'll never have that ex girlfriend's number to make a stupid mistake with again.

Yep.  Ditto with the X2.  Though it sometimes seems to have to really think to advance to the next minute.
