No, it is customary to bring in your "own guys." Bush did it in the middle of his term, which is very unusual.

Nah, everyone does. If Obama does it in the middle of his term, when federal prosecutors won't do his bidding for what could be argued to be political reasons then I hope people jump all over him.

If Obama fires them for refusing to overlook Democrats and only target Republicans, I certainly hope so.

When Clinton fired the attorneys (including those with active investigations of his friends and cronies), not much was said in the mainstream media. Nothing will be said here.

Why wouldn't he? US Attorney slots are one of the perqs that can be given out. You don't waste that on someone else's appointees.
