Unattached to a Hang Glider
« on: November 27, 2018, 04:02:20 PM »
Holy crap. This dude was pretty strong at least. Try going out and just hanging static on a bar for two minutes where you have a good two-handed grip. It's not that easy. This guy had his hands moving all over the place to try and get a grip on the moving platform and was intermittently hanging on with one hand. Video gave me the willies.

He was a lot more forgiving of the pilot than I would have been. :)

I was actually surprised that this happened. Given how anal the Swiss are with rules and procedures, you'd think the pilot would have had a checklist. From the article, it sounded like he was an instructor or doing it for a living or something so should have not been so sloppy.

I don't know anything about hang gliding, but I wonder if US hang glider pilots are taught to use a checklists the same as pilots who fly real aircraft.  =D

How long can you hang on to a hang glider?

For the rest of your life  >:D

There is no fixing stupid. But, you can line it up in front of a wall and offer it a last smoke.

There is no such thing as a "transgender" person.  Only mental illness that should be discouraged.

Where would you put the checklist?

I bet they have at least a mental checklist.  I'm guessing this was caused by a distraction.

It's not the fall that hurts, it is that sudden deceleration at the end.
