Hey, in this town I can get a decent meal at a Chineese food place for that.

$8 for a big plate of Chinese, enough left over for a drink and maybe a snack.

But with my $19 I could get TWO Chinese dinners!

I make it a habit not to eat at most Chinese places after most of the local ones got a fail of like "30" on health department inspections. It seems to be wise to check, as in a lot of areas, there's one or two clean ones, and a bunch more that get "OMG EVERYONE OUT NOW" levels of fail from the inspectors. Not just rodents, but chemicals above food storage, chicken kept at 70 degrees, all sorts of...icky things. The local paper published all the results on their website. I was happy my favorite dinner got a 99, horrified at the small Chinese places.

That, and there's one that has a slogan of "Mysteriously Delicious".

White Castle...enough said. I think those things stay in your digestive system for about two minutes, tops.

They serve tiny little hamburgers that are cooked with steam and end up a sort of greyish square, with a bit of onions on a tiny bun.

And for many people, they cause delight in eating, followed by immediate and profound digestive distress as your stomach goes "DUDE WTF NO!". Though someone made them even worse:

Most of the Chinese food restaurants here seem clean enough.  In any case, I have an iron stomach.  I even survived college cafeteria food with nary a case of food poisoning (though my roommate and  a couple of friends weren't so lucky...)

I don't know...they can't be worse than Aramark.  Bastards charged $10 a meal, which was about on the same level as truck stop food.
