Read it again. It's fill-to-the-brim operations of one jug against the other, accepting as truth that one is 5 gallons to its upper limit, and the other is 3 gallons to its upper limit.
Pour 2/3 of 3 into 5, filling it and leaving 1 in 3.
...
Pour 1/3 of 3 into 5.
...
3/5 of 5 into 3.
...
Pour 2/5 of 5 into 3. You now have 2/3 of 3 filled.
Kinda hard to read your description as anything other than fractions when you say things like "pour 1/3 of 3 into 5".
At any rate...
The movie looks like it's gonna be fun.
