Since cops don't take the reports any more, the statistic for crime rate goes down, while the actual crime rate goes up.

The incident comes after police reported an uptick in shootings and assaults in the city during the first six months of the year.
The city reported 119 shootings, both fatal and non-fatal, for the first six months of 2021, compared to 58 in the first half of last year.
So more than double is an "uptick"?

I know open carry was passed in Texas, but I don't know how it would apply to brandishing an AK pistol while hanging out of a car window. It doesn't apply in California either and doesn't go into effect until 9/1.

Seriously, Fistful, I've seen people waving rifles out of sunroofs at 10:15pm... Usually driving WAY too fast along south Kingshighway. I've driven past cars that look like they took a wrong turn at Knob Creek. I have 'em come to my store sometimes asking how to fix a bullet hole in the sheet metal.

Oh, and you see a LOT of folks with "messenger bags" or "man purses." The smallest I've seen would easily fit a Glock 17... The messenger bags are probably holding AR pistols. In a customer car the other day, saw an AR pistol and a shottie with a drum of some sort... Just in the back of the SUV... Casual-like.
