Is it a muskrat? An otter? Or perhaps a monster?

Photographs of a strange-looking creature discovered in a remote Northern Ontario aboriginal community are creating a raging Internet debate.

The photos show a brown furry animal with a bald white face and large teeth.

The unsightly critter was spotted in Big Trout Lake by two nurses walking their dog earlier this month. The animal is about 30 centimetres long and has a rat-like tail with “almost a human face,” says the community’s website.

Some residents of Big Trout Lake, an Oji-Cree community of 1,200 south of Hudson Bay, believe the animal is a rare local creature known as an omajinaakoos, which roughly translates to “ugly one”. Band councillor Darryl Sainnawap said his great uncle spotted one about 50 years ago.

“He says in his younger days he was with his grandfather ... and he did see this same creature and that’s the last time he saw it,” he said. “His grandfather called him omajinaakoos.”

Looks like a manbearpig to me.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?

It's clear that it's a Shoppus fotohorribilis.  Quite commonly seen on the internet these days.  This organism was previously known only to certain newpapers sold near the cash registers of grocery stores.  According to these papers, the creature is not of earth, but was brought here by alien spaceships in order to jam up the internet with many widths of band in discussing it so they could more easily take over this planet.  Resistance would be scattered and futile due to the inability of puny humans to communicate to each other and form an organized resistance, according to these newspapers.

The creature is closely related to S. fotoridiculus, S. fotogullibilis, and S. fotojesuspaceshipcaptin, among others.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,

that would be 1/3 not 1/2. or more likely, 1/4, 1/4, and 1/2 of something. (yeah, fractions.  )

(Incidentally, I'd have done the same thing if I hadn't seen the episode.)
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I think our local protophotobiologist, 230RN, described the beast perfectly.
(Or would that be photoprotobiologist?)
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.
