>I wonder how many feet of paracord I'll actually end up using to make a belt my size.<

Get a couple more spools? :neener:

Actually, my estimate is that I'll use about 50 feet to make a 36 inch belt. Just my size. When I finish it we'll see how far off was my guess. Wink

Make a hammock first. Trust me.

For that I'd need more than just a couple of more spools. I only have fifty feet anyway, so it's convenient that my estimate for my belt size calls for just that amount. (or maybe it's wishful thinking... *whistles* grin)

Some guy on another forum just recently suggested the same thing! He even provided that same link. I might try that.

 rolleyes

The stuff has to be one of the better inventions of recent history.  TarpleyG, there's nothing wrong with consensual "soft restraints."  Between consenting adults.  But probably not in Texas. . .

We go through a spool of it at Rescue about once a year.

What are you all doing with the tax money, over there?  Or would I rather not know?  Tongue

I'm convinced all our enemies need do to conquer us is seize our military's supplies of 550 cord and that green duct tape.

We're a non-profit, 501c.3

No tax monies whatsoever.

And as to the rest?  What goes on in the back of a rig on a transport stays there.  Federal law.

I'll second that.

You can easily tow a deadlined HMMWV with 550.  12 strands work, but I'd recommend at least 15 or 16.  I rigged a commo wire dispenser with a spool of 550 on any vehicle I was issued for any extended period of time.

I found something better than 100 mph tape, aviation tape.  It's some kind of bendy metal.  That stuff can and does hold together aircraft.   Only down side is that it's very shiny.

550 cord works well as a bikini.

I agree with Doc about pics for the bikini.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I've had several 100' pieces in my families BOB and just ordered a 300' spool.
Now I have some ideas to play with in my ample spare time, I spend way to much time online.
I have a couple of knives that came with para cord wraps. Now I'll have to try to do one myself.

thanks for the links.
