Dr. Tamara O'Neal, an emergency medicine physician, recently broke off an engagement with Juan Lopez. Mr. Lopez killed her as they were talking in the hospital parking lot. He then ran into the hospital ER, shot several other people and died in an exchange with police. It is not yet known if he killed himself or from police fire. Four people total dead, including a Chicago police officer.
