When you're here at 4:00 am, which is it?

Me? Usually up early.

Hmm.  Both.  Depends on the day in question.   Today, late.

If I'm awake at 4am, it's because I'm up early.  I can't remember the last time I stayed up till 4am.

It would be up early as I too am a morning person. Other than a short time back in the day working morning towers in the oil patch, I can't recall ever actually staying up till 4AM. I used to have another job where 4AM was the time I needed to get up and get ready for work.

Either way, it's a God awful time of the day for a sun-synchronous guy like me.  Smiley

Late.  I've been known to stay up till the sun comes up.

If I am getting up at 4am, it sure ain't to surf the internet.  It means there are some fish to be caught, or some ducks to shoot.

Always early, never liked the idea of sleeping away 1/3 of my life.

I think the main reason I took up fly fishing is so I wouldn't have to get up until sunrise. Smiley

It means I'm up late. I don't get up at 4 am unless somebody is paying me to do so.

I'm with Monkeyleg.  Although it's been a decade or so since I've stayed up until 4am, it's still a "stay-up" time, not a "get-up" time.

Up late.

I'm a night owl.

I didn't finally turn out the light last night until 4:30 this morning.

Then I was up at 9:30.

Early.  I'm normally up about 5:30.  Even on weekends I can't sleep past 6 unless I stayed up far too late the night before.

Yeah, but that is still 6am.  I may get up at 3 or 4 to go out trolling, but at least I get to sleep on the boat.  Not like I am going to hit anything in the middle of Lake Huron Cheesy

4am?  If I am up that early I am on my way to waterfowl hunt or in the middle of catfishing.

Up early.  I usually get up around 0500 for work.  The birds are thick on the airfield so I need to get out and scare them off before flying starts.

Early with rare exceptions.

4:30 is what the alarm is set for usually. When I tell people I woke up at 7:00 on a Saturday, they think I got up early when I actually slept late.

Different time zone Smiley

But if you mean 0400 my time, it's probably because I just got home from work and need to unwind before going to bed.

It's perfectly normal to sit in front of the computer at four in the morning with a chili-dog and a beer. Normal y'hear, I don't care what you irritatingly cheerful bushytailed early morning people have to say about it. You're faking it anyway. I know, because I have done my share of getting up at 4 so I could be at work at 5 in the morning. There is nothing cheerful about it. At least I'm honest - I have never ever tried to fake cheerfulness at 5 a.m. Cheesy

Unfortunately, it means my back and legs are hurting again...  since my injury last year, I find I have to sleep two to three times a day, because I wake up after two or three hours with a very stiff back and aching legs.  I then have to get up to stop the pain, and wait a few hours until I'm tired again.  Still waiting for the doctors to find a fix... Sad
