Quake Four and Enemy Territory: Quakewars

I was a serious Quake fan. Q1 was my first FPS, and the atmosphere / content of that game has never been duplicated for me. Even the NIN created sounds were perfect.

Q2 was so-so, but the intro movie was amazing. I wish I could find an AVI of it to post.

Q3? Yawn, except for some cool mods.

OK=  now that you yawn at Q3, but still think 4 is gonna be really good, i am with you. UT totally domintated over Q3, left it behind once everyone got machines fast enough to play it.
i play UT 03 still sometimes, ill get 04 eventually.
Quake was the original. the first real step forward in 3D.
wolfenstein, doom, nukem, never quite really did it.

No, it is not going to whomp all over BF2.  Just like DOD:S isn't, and COD:2 isn't.

They are two completely different games.  One is present day, with real guns.  The other is battling spacemonsters, or robots, or whatever it is, probably with quite fake guns.  Just like DOD and COD will be set in WWII with real guns back then.

Three completely different categories.
