We've discussed bacon, cornbread, vacuum cleaners. Name your favorite mustard !!
I must admit that Long John Silver's Honey Mustard on their chicken planks (after a mild dosing of vinegar) is Da Bomb !!
Right now, I'm having some Aldi Beef Summer Sauage and Sharp Cheddar Cheese with Emeril's Dijon Mustard and Burman's honey mustard. (Strong flavors reduce the metallic taste I get from chemo).

My wife and I prefer brown mustards. They just seem to have more flavor. There's about eight different brands in the refrigerator and I can't remember one right now.

Depends on my mood and my food....basic yellow is great on breakfast sausage on a biscuit....Subway spicy deli mustard on my Cold Cut Combo....dark brown on a knockwurst in Fredericksburg.....Dairy Queen Honey Mustard Dressing on a Crispy Chicken Salad (with bacon).....

I can dig on the subtleties of mustard.
Right now in the fridge we've got at least six different makes.
From memory -
For yellow, we are really low on French's (not so good, imo) and just bought a jug of Plotchman's Plochmans (better).
There's some store-brand Dijon,
some designer stone ground
and a jar of Mucky Duck,
and at least two others.

I have not found any good store brand or homemade recipe for honey mustard. Nothing quite hits the spot that I like...restaurants tend to have some that satisfies me, though.
I usually just keep a bottle of French's in the fridge for mustard needs. Other than hamburgers and hotdogs, I don't eat a lot of food that I like with mustard (I almost never eat cold cuts, 12 years of eating them pretty much every day during my grade school years really put me off of them). I do like a spicy brown mustard on sandwiches when I do eat them.

Now I find Melinda's habanero ketchup. It's so good, I eat it on hotdogs.

Next up, I try the chipotle. Run to TJ Maxx if you have one in your area, they sell it pretty cheaply.

MAGGI Hot & Sweet Chilli Sauce - Not as thick as ketchup but really good with fries.

It's not really ketchup, but I usually use SBR on bergers, fries, etc.

I'm not much of a mustard afficionado, but this Sunday we took a drive up into Door County here in Wisconsin to see the fall colors, and we stopped at a little shop along the way, and found several really good mustards.
One was a really nice wine mustard, and the other was a tangy polish mustard.
I'd give the brand name, but I was tapped out at that point and couldn't buy any, and now I can't remember the name, but it's a little local manufacturer.

Aldi Brand. It only gets used on burgers and the like. I'm not a Ketchup snob, like some people.... ;)
I will put a plug in for Aldi's Kansas City Style Bar-B-Que sauce. Two thumbs up !!

French's for most things. Grey Poupon is good for a little more upscale dining.
But for some reason, my all-time-ultimate favorite is Popeye's (the fast food joint) Mardi Gras mustard. If I could find a recipe for it, I'd make it by the gallon and slather it on everything. =)

You will note the vomit color is roughly the same as a Wasabi mustard I have a bottle of which is not too shabby either.

Frozen Fordhook Lima Beans
Cook 1/2 as long as says on package.
Replace water with milk & real butter. Milk to almost cover beans, roughly 1/4 c of butter.
Warm up to boiling & removefrom heat.
Serve in small bowls.

I think I figured out what's going on with all the food posts.
It's Fall. Our instincts turn to gathering provender for the winter. We are expressing these instincts by thinking about food.
Might be a neat pisikyological experiment for someone to go back through all posts everywhere and see if food references are more commen in the fall.
Research grant, anyone?

I like either spicy brown mustard (Gulden's or the store-brand equivalent) or horseradish mustard on just about anything I put mustard on - burgers and hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. I've just recently tried a vinaigrette recipe using some dijon mustard in an attempt to find one thing the whole family can and will use on salads - this wasn't it, though not because of the mustard IMO (needed more flavor/herbs - all we tasted was the vinegar and the sugar). I'll use the Chinese hot mustard at our local Chinese place - or would, when we still went there (they lied to us about not putting eggs in their stuff, which Lori's allergic to) - but the vapors frequently got up into my sinuses causing mucho pain and anguish for me, and amusement for my family at the same time.

AFAIK Wasabi is just a green horseradish instead of white and it may be a bit more pungent though that could be in the preparation.

Lima beans were the scourge of my childhood, until I learned that if you swallow them whole like an ennui-ridden soccer mom swallows a bottle full of Valium, you don't actually have to taste them.
All of the vile, pestilential, chalky, horrible, porcelain-god-proselytizing badness is contained inside the hull.
Of course, in so doing one loses the nutritional benefits of them as well, because the hull is...impervious to mere digestive acid. I think there's a lesson in that.

My only memories of lima beans were tasteless things I was required to eat before leaving the table. I didn't hate them, I didn't like them either. I really hated squash and collie flower.

I love lima beans. Canning destroys lima beans though. About the only vegetable that I'll voluntarily eat post-canning is beets, which means when we're broke and living out of the pantry, we eat a LOT of beets. Frozen is ok though, and a lot less work than fresh.
Trouble is lima beans blister my mouth. No clue why. Lot of legumes do that to do.
So, my lima recipe of choice is a very small amount, lightly steamed, lots of butter, eat 'til pain overpowers delight. =)

I'd like to find a unsweetened Catsup, no sugar, no HFCS or no artificial sweeteners.
Just tomatoes, vinegar and salt.

Brown sauce usually has a more fruity taste to it, although not all are the same. Daddies and HP are the most well known over here.

When I was a kid, we had a Japanese woman who lived across the street who introduced me to Tonkatsu sauce. I can eat that stuff on just about anything breaded and fried.
There's a Japanese brand (forget the name) in a square bottle that's my favorite, but I can't find it anywhere local, even in an asian supermarket. And for our non-American correspondents, you have caused confusion by calling a Full English Breakfast a Continental Breakfast, which on this side of the pond consists of something pretending to represent an imitation croissant, a cup of weak and tepid coffee, and if one is fortunate a dab of some sort of jelly or jam.
It is reassuring to know that the Americans and the British are still separated by but an ocean and a language.

I'd skip those though, not a fan of mushrooms. What I do like, is Black Pudding with the Full English. =D
