I DVR'ed it and am listening now.  Saying lots of different things.  See the youtube link above (I hadn't realized C-SPAN had a youtube page).

Remarks about supporting 1 and 2A and about appointing Justices who would interpret the highest law of the land "as written" was spicing up enough for me.

Going after the foreign criminal gangs tooth and nail was an additional good side dish.

Those lockstep Democrats. Can't they see what asses they're making themselves out to be?  Do they have any conception of reality whatsoever?  Are they all just dogma-driven?

I thought it was a positive, powerful speech, touting all sorts of positives - support for the Second Amendment, appointment of judges who will interpret the Constitution the was it was intended, ISIS on the run, 8 trillion added to the stock market, millions of Americans with improved 401(k) results, low female unemployment, historically low black unemployment (black democrats didn't even get their thumbs out of their bums to applaud that), 200,000 more manufacturing jobs, billions more invested in the US by Exxon and Apple, Chrysler factory moving from Mexico to Michigan, big tax cuts for everyone - lots and lots of positives.

Single most memorable line? Perhaps "Because Americans are dreamers, too."

Also - without mentioning names - he gored some of the Democrats' sacred cows:

* More bad guys to Gitmo. (TAKE THAT, OBAMA!)
* Iran nuke deal was bad. (TAKE THAT, OBAMA!)
* Success of the new ROEs for our troops in the sandbox. (TAKE THAT, OBAMA!)
* Repeal of the horrible individual mandate. (TAKE THAT, OBAMA!)
* Americans honor their country during the National Anthem. (TAKE THAT, NFL!)

Pelosi's scowl was plastered on her face, but by the way her jaw was moving either her dentures were pinching or she was chewing her cud.

Legitimate or illegitimate spawn?

No matter. This Kennedy (who to me, seemed to be fighting back tears) gave a whiny speech which included support for Black Lives Matter.

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

HamkB that would be because the black Dems don't want their constituents to have jobs. With jobs comes financoap independence, they want their voters to stay on the welfare plantation

Now I wish I had watched the whole thing. I'll have to catch a recording.

I liked the "Americans are Dreamers" line too.

Also, it appears the Dems in the room (and celebrities and the other usuals) are out of touch with their constituency. From the polls, the average dem had a higher approval (or lower resistance, depending on how you look at it) than any of the dems that represent them. Those jackasses couldn't stand or even clap for a 12 year old kid putting flags on military graves. I heard there were some boos, but don't know where they came from. Was it politicians, or their guests?

Also, mean spirited, but the "Joe Kennedy drooling" thing was kinda funny, only because I've come to hate political dynasties. Drooling is what happens a few generations into a dynasty.

A couple of other things I just read:

They apparently didn't even clap about Scalise surviving the shooting and rejoining them. Couldn't even clap for a coworker surviving?

Also, great quote by Greg Gutfeld:

Which is an offensive thing to say, supposedly. I didn't watch the Grammy awards, but didn't one of those pop star political experts say "We're all dreamers," or something similar?

CBS News poll showing 75% viewer approval rating for SOTU. Let that sink in a sec... CBS. That CBS. National network CBS. Kinda hard to digest that they would even print a result so in Trump's favor, much less in a reasonably objective way. I'm genuinely shocked.

Did anyone listen to the SOTU address? What did he say, and how did he say it?

I didn't get to listen to it all (busy putting and keeping the children in bed), but I laughed out loud (enough to make the children run out of their beds to see what was so funny) after his "And that is why we stand for the flag and the national anthem."

Expert trolling. Says something that ought not to be controversial and the Dems sit on their hands. I'm still in awe of how they chose to put themselves AGAINST the flag and the national anthem. (And of course, Trump nails them on it.)
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I stood for the national anthem yesterday. Twelve gay black women of color died.

Sen Kennedy sounded like he was running for student council president. So empassioned so totally caught up in words other people wrote.
His response seemed to have been written either before the speech or just made up of talking points unrelated to anything covered in the SOTU address.  Mentioning the need to address items already promised by the President and making sure he included a  reference to !!RUSSIA!!

I was slightly disappointed that his recognition of heroic acts didn't mention Stephen Willeford, but I also wouldn't be surprised if that was at Willeford's own request, since he was there as Rep Cuellar's guest.

I saw her and the first thing I thought was Tardive Dyskinesia. If you read about it, it is probable. Given her age and other hand waving mannerisms I also thought Parkinson's meds.  ;)

I guarantee if POTUS were making those movements the liberal press would be all over it and CNN's Dr. in residence, Dr. Gupta, would probably do a 2 hour special on the affliction and make sure the innuendo was that the POTUS was unfit because "What is he hiding about his medical history?".
